Baisakhi Bazaar at Club Patio by Pitaara and BuzzouQ

The eve rather the night of 13th April 2013, I walked into Club Patio at South City 1 Gurgaon.
Pitaara and BuzzouQ had collaborated and created Baisakhi Bazaar. The club has turned into my second home over the last six months. It makes me feel good, the guard is always smiling and Suruchi is always on her feet. You must go over to Club Patio for yourself and confirm what I am saying :) And before you go looking for Suruchi she is the one who does the deal making, just kidding ...actually doing my best to r remember her post....I am one of those who never knows who is who :).She heads sales and marketing, hope I got that right.

Anyway back to our Bazaar...i walked up couple of steps and saw a brightly lit and colourful glass panel...wow,me was truly delighted, looked good.

I had arrived as a chief guest :) at 9.00 p.m not intentionally just one of those un planned delays....just like the un planned baby :)) this article seems to be bringing out the wicked side of me.

So back on track the Bazaar...i wanted to meet the participants, check out the goodies and do some shopping....so I was hurrying.

Enroute I met Manish Sinha proud owner of Tikdam and cinnamon stays with all his beautiful bar art with him....he was sad it had turned windy so he packed up...a quick conversation ensured he had got a promising business lead...first event an official launch for Tikdam...nice :)

A walk around the space and conversation with many of the women entrepreneurs who were there I discovered loads of happy women.

One said Ma'am Thank you for inviting me and sharing this wonderful platform with me...we had met recently at I Inspire....she had these most awesome hand painted Ganpati's.

The one right next to her Venita with her organic line ...was happy she had stepped out and brought her work to people and opportunity to understand the market at a very low cost...she was happy her father had come to see and fussed around her...made me happy.

Another pretty lady named Sapna she has been with us at BuzzouQ earlier was glowing and reminded me that she had new collection of kids dohar's...and had been looking for me..I have a niece whom I am happy to buy the world for :) and I obviously went show and she happily announced Oh only one piece left super man rest all sold out...WOW :)

Met Meenu another of our BuzzouQ participants and she was emphatic in saying Club Patio works for me.

Walking along I came across some amazing Salwar kameez though not my size ....great opportunity for someone to encash on :)

And then I met Monica accompanied by the pretty Gayatri Singh...always a delight to meet her.So beautiful in her Saris.Monica came to me for mentoring and stocking with Buzzaria and is honing her skills in marketing and understanding the market for her beautiful outfits.

Saw the wonderful photo booth...spoke to some other participants....went to grab some food and did I do some grabbing :) the joke became me :) a plate of food flew in my direction and so for few minutes we were all part of comedy circus....so guys loads of free entertainment too:) we just couldn't stop laughing.

And then I discovered some elephant poo stuff and I was amazed and I asked did people recognise the products and the NGO Sarthak went yes :) they did I said wow and went on to tell them who I am and they looked at me and said Oh Ma'am we were just wondering how will we ever reach you and Voila there i was in front of them :) ways of the universe :).Ma'am we want to sell via Buzzaria...cards were exchanged :) more B2B was in place...I was soon too find out.

A lady just appeared and quietly asked me can I get your 5 minutes...I was like sure, she continued,Ma'am I know you are very busy,I have come all the way from Aligarh, can i speak to you....I want to get my tarot reading done first...sure we will talk over coffee.

BuzzouQ is a platform created for entrepreneurs, creating an access to the market, for all of us to tweak our products and our marketing.BuzzouQ is the event arm of Blue Lotus....and you can call it sister brand of Buzzaria.

Pitaara created by Shephali Kasliwal...let me tell you....an awesome women/mom entrepreneur....I am grateful to Suruchi for our collaboration. Shephali has been on her toes and you could say fingers to ensure the success of this event....hats off to her work and I bow to her tireless energy.God Bless...she also has her own brand by the name of knotty angels and had created Pitaara for other's just like her.

Back to the lady post tarot across a cup of coffee, asked for an appointment to show me her cushion covers which she wanted to stock at Buzzaria and she wanted design mentoring too...with a promise to meet her later this week...thank god though we decided on a later date not knowing I had the flu...and would have cancelled appointment...and she must have asked me 6 times I won't forget her :) and I promised her 6 times I won't :) she once again said its important for me to get this right and I once again assured her I am with her.

Meanwhile I kept bumping into a short lady dressed in cream and black carrying loads of shopping bags...on introduction...Oh you are the one who owns Buzzaria ...you know the first BuzzouQ I bought an Aloe Vera gel from you it was the best ever...felt good...we carry 50000 odd products and Aloe Vera gel is one of the products.

I must profusely thank Priyanka Arora she handles all BuzzouQ work...she is a work from home mother.

Arushi Awasthi for her creatives.

The Blue Lotus interns - Arav, Aneesh,Prathvee.

Pooja Rajgaria -who pitched in at the last minute as our team did so want to put up Buzzaria stall and some of our team members were occupied at American Embassy and Pragati Maidan and Lado Sarai.

Pooja is in love with Buzzaria...thank you Pooja...she has in the past been with the brand Holii and worked with craft council of Bengal.

And Shephali - Thank you for the beautiful marketing and the collaboration.

And Club Patio and especially Suruchi ...though we do have some resolvable issues with operations :) something to do with tents which fly :) seriously tents and not flying carpets :)

On the eve of Baisakhi we all had fun and loads of happy faces and I shouldn't end this note without mentioning Kashish Sharma our very own tarot reader...a born gypsy :)

......and my driver Rohit who ensures that our entire team is fed and dropped home in one piece :)))

and all the others who contributed by taking up stalls and buying and promoting and supporting and doing workshops and of course creating excitement....

What a Buzz !!! The Baisakhi Buzz

C ya Soon we are BuzzoQing very soon.....
Stay Connected....and stay Informed
......With April Blessings

Happy 2013

Blue Lotus is 26 months old and our brands age between 26 months and 4 weeks and couple of them still waiting to arrive on planet earth.

BluPear  being the oldest and Chhottu Buzz being the youngest and Buzzaria being somewhere in the middle.

As most start ups important point, not all start ups most start ups one sees numerous amounts of working challenges.

Finance normally tops the list, closely followed by the people your organization is about, and nudging the other two and moving them of their place is logistics, distribution and the govt do's and don'ts...I am clubbing the three of them as they are capable of shaking any organization from top to bottom.

2012 saw us reeling too,we kept getting back into the saddle :) though a lot bruised and a bit battered :)
We continued with our goals kept on with our focus and declared we are made of a metal which is superior and tough :) time for Clang Clan to take birth. One of our new brands its all about glass and metal, too very extremes by nature, one fragile and one hard as a nail.

Life is many times just like Clang Clan and so is our behavior and our emotions:) I am sure all of us can relate to this without my giving a detailed description.

So,here we are saying a hello and a welcome with all of you to 2013....and sharing what we want to remember of 2012 in 2013

Chhottu Buzz- The birth of a new format of retail for us at Blue Lotus

Clang Clan- All about glass and metal

BuzzouQ - an event a bazaar rather a curated bazaar for one and all

BuzzPort -Supportive services

MabrouQ...All about Arabic Clothing

Much Love

Moushumi arrived at Buzzaria, the day of the inauguration, brought in by Aarti and that was my first connect with her.Couple of weeks later we were again talking this time with the thought of her doing a Weekend Buzzaria at her home in ATS Noida. She would get Aarti to talk on her behalf. She was hesitant and nervous and unsure of most things. Her twinkling eyes which I am now used to were filed with concern in those days.
A year later Moushumi has come into her own.Wow :) I love it,each time I see the transformation. The empowered women is a delight to watch.

Her 4th Weekend Buzzaria is around the corner and she is confident and excited. In the last few months she took Buzzaria on the Move to Goa and was with us at  The Indian Market Place we created at Diwane Khas, Taj Delhi, the two BuzzouQ's and the Fashion Make Over by Social Potpourri at Buzzaria.

All the above events have allowed her to connect to her skill sets, the journey into learning social media has allowed this stay at home mom to add a new dimension to her learning curve.

I am so proud of her and now she is guiding Priyanka another stay at home Mom,Priyanka has a small baby and a 90 year old grandmother to look after.

Real women Achiever’s – by Falguni Patel

Real women Achiever’s – Mamta Mamta

“Too many of us are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.”
– Les Brown
It was 3.5 years back when I had taken a sabbatical to think, explore and contemplate on what I wanted to really do. I am true to my zodiac sign Gemini and change is what makes me the Happiest. Curiosity to explore made me venture into Fashion and retail segment. Coming from a humble service class background, it was a big jump for me to start a start-up of my own. But I did that. Little did I know then that it was perceived to be a courageous and risky take. I am happy I did that. I have learnt a lot in last 3.5 years of my entrepreneurial journey. So it really impresses me a lot when I meet such inspiring women from across the country who did similar things.
I always have been very fascinated by how women can multitask and carry jobs so efficiently. To deal with the work world and at the same time strike a balance between family duties is what amazes me. With the whole idea of emphasising and highlighting such women, I started this blog series of Real women and street style. We took you through some stylish women in this series. This is a separate extension of the real women series which focuses more on entrepreneurial spirit and achievements. So we call it “Real women achievers” series.
I met Mamta Mamta through the same virtual platform and I am glad I interacted with her. Miles away , through telecommunication also you could feel the enthusiasm and positivity bursting from her. She is a retailer , designer , entrepreneur , mentor and a fabulously positive person. So let me take you through her life journey

Name : Mamta Mamta

Summer Fun by BluPear at Buzzaria

Way back in 2004,one summer afternoon I was with my two sisters and driving in and around the various streets....and I happen to glance upon the most beautiful looking chappals.

I thought about these chappals day and night and I knew I was smitten for life, till then I kind of thought all my love was wrapped up with fabric,textiles,garments...what did I know about myself :) practically nothing.

I started selling these beautiful chappals to people in general...then I was in Mumbai...I of course bought some 10 of them for myself.
And everyone who came over would look at my assortment of color and smile and giggle.I didn't care.
A year of wearing and selling them I found the quality awesome,my feet didn't hurt,my feet looked pretty, and they could give any pair a run for its money.
Smug with the success of the chappals I became complacent.
And suddenly I was invited to participate in a fashion show in Dubai, this was March 2005,I designed 5 collections all for the Arab women.
As I had only a week to design the entire collection I was very flustered and suddenly via email arrived the size of their feet. Now I just sat there staring at the the email,I was lost, completely lost...what was I to do.
And suddenly these Indian Ethnic slippers winked at me:) and they were saying...HEY...we are here.
Arab fashion my Indian chappals those to flats on the ramp,I was really worried.

Voila! The chappals were a rage everyone bought them, the models the customers, the organizers.
One time I sold 75 pairs to one family they took them as gifts.
At some point in 2006 I co created Tribal Route and took these chappals with me...they were a huge hit with all the TR customers.
Life continued with the chappals part of my life :)
.....and then I moved to Delhi in 2009...people asked me about my chappals,I said some day...may be...lets see..

I was in one of those low phases of my life, and even my most happening chappals wouldn't make me happy :)
Then arrived Pratibha Mehra and said lets do something together...an opportunity to supply the chappals to a mega store came up...we branded,we bought we did all that is required ... didn't work out.

Finally I created Blue Lotus and all the desires of last 10 years came pouring out.
The first brand I created was BluPear
I love the BluPear chappals, they are so pretty, they make my customers very happy, they are comfortable and one can stand on one's feet for the entire day without getting tired.
The chappals are priced between Rs 500 and Rs 1000/- and clearly value for money.
They are hand made and part of the cottage industries. The embroidery is done by rural crafts persons.
Our little step to creating sustainable income for all...via a BluPear pair.

We invite you this week to try out a pair and tell us if like me you are also a BluPear fan for life :)

I am and I am told by most that I have damn good taste :)

So visit us this week at Buzzaria and be part of the BluPear family.....and if you happen to be the lucky BluPear Gal...your feet will get a special treat at Mantra - The Vedic Spa

Looking forward to connecting with your HAPPY FEET !!

A Brand new You

I connected with Sulekha at the Weekend Buzzaria in Noida the one at Aabha's place....this was July last year.
In Sulekha's words she just felt she could pour her heart out to me...I was then a complete stranger...God Bless Sulekha and others like her who speak straight from the heart.
She spoke about www.socialpotpourri.com.
I heard :) and The Entrepreneur Alchemist part of me said connect with me once you have launched the site.
Sept 2011 A petite Kriti entered my store followed by the cutest little daughter and informed me that she is the other half of social potpourri :) I said the same thing again connect once ready.
Time flew and we entered 2012 one day the duo found me and said now what.
Our journey began, with no marketing budgets and 2 brand new entrepreneurs :) and a start up in the space where....loads of big players are playing and one which we all love which we warmly call FB :).
Couple of months later we are racing about spreading awareness, pinpointing differentiators, connecting, selling, creating, etc.
Most of you who are entrepreneurs I am sure...get the picture :) We are breathing and eating social potpourri.
We chose to organize off line events, this involves lot of work...yet as I have attended over 200 networking events agreed that this was brilliant.
We have so far organized 4 in New Delhi and the 5th one is this Friday and I who many call the queen of networking, was sitting and pondering what is so special about this network.
And,I must share what I found just like Buzzaria ...social potpourri is also very personal, like your family.
Your space, your voice, you can be heard, and you can be seen...without having to raise your voice.
What did Buzzaria get for connecting with social potpourri....loads of buying customers :) simply awesome.
A brand new product rather a brand new brand :) 40 Winks by Aakshat Sinha
What did Buzzaria on the Move get...2 awesome volunteers for GoaFest...Thanks Mayank and Olivia
What did I get...I got loads of new friends :) lots of interesting conversation and a long time FB friend and I finally met...lovely meeting you Nikita...God Bless( Now Nikita had visited Buzzaria on 2 occasions but we never got to meet )
And I got to know about Tea House and spend an awesome evening at my favourite Cheese Chaplin...and came across a very interesting bed n breakfast place in SDA and met my dear friend Aarti twice ...Oh you must see what Aarti does besides selling her digital photographs from Buzzaria she helps you self publish
We also spent a mad evening sharing stories about colors and the special outfit of our lives.

Now all this .... in just 4 networking events....simply wow...and all at no cost, other then my time.
I am impressed ....maha impressed :)

And now together we have cooked up A Brand New You

I am in love with www.socialpotpourri.com.

The Entrepreneur Alchemist is smitten....
And Buzzaria says a huge thank you.

See you all there :) And in social potpourri's words Be there or Be Left Out actually it is Join Us or Be Left out...I am twisting it for my blog post :)

Buzzaria on The Move @GOAFEST

A new experience -A new City - A new Festival
Buzzaria on the Move is off to the GoaFest.Taking the store and creating a marketplace or a Bazaar is always very exciting.
Yet with every such decision comes in loads of logistic coordination.
Team,Tickets,Stocks,Trains,Flights,Freight,Display,ManPower,Taxis,Budgets,Brands,Leader,Volunteer,Blogging,Twitter
Security,Inter State,Local Conveyence,Billing,Cash,Credit Card Machine...all these words and many more take over my life....and one little voice keeps saying FUNDS....u need lots and I always reply ...they will arrive :)
Each time for two minutes in a day I do wonder what am I doing :)
Then I remember my passion to get what Buzzaria is out to people to share with them experience, the excitment, the fun,the awesome merchandize we carry, the dreams of so many brands and designers.
And,then I say the world out there is huge :) and this is just the 5th city :) We have been to Jaipur,Mumbai,Pune and of course in Delhi and now Goa.
My Buzzing Angels as I call my team....are all excited and already in the trains and the plane :)
And I continue to wait for that email and phone call...where is Buzzaria on the Move headed next :)))

Story No.2 -A visit to Buzzaria -A story to be told by Kriti

Touch, feel and even a smell, go much beyond this physical world. Why else would a certain whiff make you shut your eyes and reminisce in memory; gaud in details of a particular time and place; move you away from the present to the ethereal? There is a particular smell that I associate with every country, city or town.
Buzzaria affects the visual sense. It is a bombardment of colors that uplift! Uplifted you move around to pick up an item or two, study it, keep it back or buy it. During all of this, somehow there is a want to connect with the people of the place. A need to associate with the creators of the products there – a feeling that says - “this is good for me!”
That lane in Lado Sarai may have a thousand different things that could be explored, but the signage of Buzzaria attracts one like a magnet and true to its magnetic nature – it does not make it easy for you to leave. One realizes that the budgeted time for Lado Sarai was completely hijacked by this one place!
The store was referred to me by a dear friend, and I went there to get some of those healing bracelets they stock. There was a huge demand for the same in my family since they saw it on my friends’ wrist. And so I went to buy those bracelets. I came back with those, a couple of stuff to add to my wardrobe and guess what more – a business associate!! Go figure…  Shopping spree I think not!! It turned out to be more of a value-add to my life, a lesson that I need to learn and the result of which I await.
All said and done that feeling has not left me – “this is good for me” – the inner voice resonates! “This is good for me” I repeat!

Sulekha's words :)

Sharing the first post for the contest A visit to Buzzaria- A story to be told
Sulekha can be found on www.socialpotpourri.com.
She has started building on her dreams. Her dream is socialpotpourri Do check out her dream...and read her post.

Mamta

In Sulekha's words....

I am an amateur psychic; I sense things and sometimes see visions too. One fine day I found myself at Buzzaria on the move, Noida. Something compelled me to seek out this unfamiliar place, it called out to me. I didn't understand the pull, but I just knew that I Had to visit this enigmatic and exotic place called Buzzaria.   Normally, a practical, logical person, I didn't understand this urgency to be at this place I had just heard about.
The moment I walked into the place, I felt a sense of peace, of homecoming. The smiling hostess reaffirmed my faith in my instincts; I knew I was at the right place. I was in the presence of kindred spirits, I could hear them whispering, welcome friend. I was offered a cool lemon drink to quench my thirst and a warm smile which spread from the lips to the eyes.
As I looked around, I saw bright splashes of colours all around. I breathed in the smell of pure joy, dreams and felt the positive vibes. I touched the multicoloured skits, felt the texture of the elegant kurtis, and feasted my eyes on the exotic tribal jewellery. The healing paintings were a charm and I wanted to take them all home. After admiring the multicoloured juttis and chappals at the store, I stopped at the healing crystals counter; this was where I had been called to. The bracelet I picked up turned out to be a chakra balancing bracelet, I couldn't put it down.
The place was a visual feast; I tried on a cream kurti with bright floral cuffs and collar. A blue and white stole begged to be wrapped around my neck. While I was shopping, a voice kept urging me to share my dream with the lovely ladies present there. I introduced myself and told them about my future plans and they didn't find it strange that someone they had never met before was baring her soul to them.
I lingered for a while, after paying for my purchases. My feet refused to listen to my head and stayed firmly put. The warmth and the camaraderie at Buzzaria captivated me and broke down the usually solid and protective walls around my logical mind and heart. The connect I felt was reciprocated, and after spending an unashamedly long time conversing with the talented ladies present there, who were now my friends, I went home reluctantly.
